We’re going to solder some wires to the IO1 connector, which is above the STM32 microprocessor in the picture below. There’s another wire you’ll need to disconnect temporarily. Once you’ve done that, you should be able to slide out the plastic casing, which contains the motor controller. These are the tabs you’ll need to bend upwards I did this with a screw driver, but if you have a better method please let me know! Note that you only need to do this on the plastic-covered side, not the motor’s side. There are aluminium tabs which hold the plastic cover on the tube. Quite interesting to learn when your blinds have been produced □ Next, remove the three screws on the plastic end cap of the aluminium rod: It’s easiest to reach in there with some tweezers or a flat-head screwdriver. Be careful though! There’s a small wire which connects the Zigbee controller to the motor controller:īe very wary of the small cable! It’s crucial and quite fragile!ĭisconnect the cable. To do that, firmly pull on it, while holding the plastic case. The next step is to remove the aluminium rod, which actually contains the motor controller and motor. Remove the two screws circled in red, then slide the plastic housing out of the aluminium railĪfter you’ve done that, you should have the box containing the battery & controller and an aluminium tube, which was previously inside the main roller freed. To do this, open the two screws at the top left side of your blinds and slide the “brains” out of the aluminium rail: ![]() Once you’ve taken down your blinds, you’ll need to remove the motor & control section from the structural section and the main roller. ![]() Now, while the firmware created is awesome, the disassembly instructions in the repo aren’t the best - which is the main reason for me to create this post instead of just starring the repo. ![]() Following this blog will most certainly void the warranty on your blinds! I’m not responsible for any damage to your blinds.
